What about Portraits?

May 14, 2012  •  Leave a Comment

There are a lot reasons to want portraiture at your wedding. Images where people are not being directed by the photographer are essential; They tell a story and they narrate the Wedding, but we want images of our friends and families looking at us as they do when they're with us. That's the simplest reason.

And yes, the portraits should be a fun time. We try hard to make it so.Just having images of everyone looking at each other doesn't replace this. Another reason portraiture is important is that life moves fast.

All of us together. How often will all of your friends be able to get together like this? What will this be worth in 10 years? What about the guys? How often to they put on a "Tux"?We look good! ! ! !

If you're going to wear a Tux, you might want to try to pose for a Photo. Come to think of it, If you're going to marry a handsome guy or a beautiful girl, you might want a dreamy fine art black & white portrait that you happen to be in.

Something special

You might also like to thank everyone by sending them a photo of yourselves gazing at them as though you're with them.

Just a cute classic imageAllan

About Wedding Photography, Photojournalism.

One of the things I like about being a wedding photographer is that I'm not doing the same thing all day. We shoot portraiture, clothing, shoes, fashion, tabletop details, and even architecture and landscapes, but we shoot photojournalism through out the day.

Photojournalism usually means documentary images that tell a story.  Black & White is a good medium for telling a story, but color  Photojournalism has its place too.Color Photojournalism

While some couples say they place more importance on Photojournalism, they almost always want Portraiture as well and choose a lot of portraiture for their albums. Couples who say they value the Portraits more do the same; They choose a lot of Photojournalism.  We're happy to emphasize either, but our experience has been that couples and families are happiest when they have a combination of both.Portrait in the Rain

I'll add a Portrait and a Details post soon.

The Grandview Bridal Show

The Grandview is at the top of my list of fun Dutchess County wedding venues. We'll be in the Ballroom tonight if you attend the Spring Bridal Show. The culture and professionalism the Bonura-Family instills on the staffs at all of their Venues makes working at the Grandview sheer joy for us. The view of the river is spectacular with the Beautiful Grand Hotel a short shuttle ride away for those traveling from Westchester or New York City.

The 2012 Wedding Season is about to get started & we are so looking forward to the year ahead!  Being Hudson Valley Wedding Photographers we have some of the country's most beautiful landscape available to us & we love to incorporate that in our photographs.  We photographed Briana & Tom's Engagement Portrait Session at Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park

Brianna and Tom were so much fun to work with. This was one of the first shots we took, but they were already connecting and having fun. That's something that's key to getting nice images.
